Healing Waters
Commissioned by PhotoVogue and W HotelsHungary, 2023
During my PhotoVogue residency in Budapest, I was drawn to the city’s historic thermal baths, a tradition introduced by the Ottomans in the 16th century. Today, these baths attract visitors from around the world, each seeking to experience the healing rituals that have lasted for centuries.
Through this series, I photographed the diverse community of bathers—locals who frequent the baths and international travelers. The portraits reveal intimate moments in these centuries-old spaces, where time seems to stand still. The photo series captures this intersection of history and contemporary life, where ancient rituals continue to shape Budapest’s identity.
